Scripture: Matthew 5:3-12

Beatitudes means blessedness.
<ul>
 	<li data-key="15258">Those believers who have the character mentioned in the Beatitudes possess the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN,  and they INHERIT THE EARTH.
</li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
 	<li>The "poor in spirit" are those who confess their NEED for God, and they will INHERIT the kingdom of God.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
 	<li>Those who mourn over sin will be BLESSED with comfort.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
 	<li>The "meek" are those who HUMBLY submit to God and others, and they will inherit the earth.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
 	<li>We are to listen to the instruction of Christ.</li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
 	<li>Those who "hunger and thirst for righteousness" are those who LONG for God's WILL  and God's WAYS. and they will be filled.</li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
 	<li>The "merciful" are those who SHOW COMPASSION for those in need, and they will receive the blessing of mercy themselves.</li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
 	<li>The "pure in heart" are those who WALK in INTEGRITY  before God and others, and they will see God</li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
 	<li>The "peacemakers" are those who MAKE PEACE with others, and they will be called sons of God.</li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
 	<li>Those who are "persecuted for righteousness" are those who suffer for being a Christian, and they are promised the kingdom of heaven and encouraged to REJOICE.</li>
</ul>

"Suffering is the badge of true discipleship. The disciple is not above his master. Following Christ means suffering because we have to suffer...Discipleship means allegiance to the suffering Christ, and it is therefore not all surprising that Christians should be called upon to suffer. All of heaven applauds those who receive Christ as Savior and Lord and are living like it. Christ calls such people, His people, "blessed."
