Crosswinds is church for the whole family. Kids are welcomed no matter where they are at in their spiritual journey. They are surrounded by those who are committed to encourage and equip them take their next young step in their relationship with God and others. We strongly encourage family partnership with weekly take homes, events, classes and more.
Resources to your Inbox Weekly
In this season of needing to do things a little different, we do not want to miss the opportunity of giving you ways in which you can spiritually engage with your children. We send out what we call a “Weekly Family Connection” to those who are journeying with us. In this weekly communication we have fun teaching videos for your kids, as well as what we call parent cues and God time cards. These are tools that help connect you and your kids to daily faith moments.
Sunday Mornings | 9:00am*
Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, we have had to reduce our Sunday Kids Ministry Services down to just our 9:00am (11:00am will be offered in the future once we are ready). While parents are worshipping in the adult worship service, children worship in our kid-friendly and age specific service and spaces; children 8-weeks old through 5th grade.
Beach Bash-ish | February 7
With a few modifications, we are looking forward to our annual Kids Ministry event where we forget about the snow, wear shorts and flip flops and see how low we can limbo. Beach Bash-ish is a great way for kids to bring their friends to church with the hope they will hear the Gospel and desire to journey with us many more weeks after. We will have games, slushies, music and more! See you and your friends on Sunday, February 7 for our 9:00am service!
Your first visit
From the moment you park your car, we want you to feel welcomed, comfortable and informed while with us. For the best first experience, enter our campus through the Kids Ministry entrance. This is found by entering our second driveway (if coming from 5&20). Go ahead and park in what we call Parking Lot C and enter through the main set of doors off that lot. You should be greeted warmly by a friendly face and then taken to our hub where a welcome team member can get your family registered, answer questions and show you around the place!
While parents/guardians participate in weekend worship services in our Ministry Center, kids have a blast in their own age-appropriate teaching, worship and small group experiences. This all happens in our kid-friendly environments.
chickadees (8-weeks to two)
Your precious little ones have a desire to be nurtured and loved by those they trust. In this stage of life, we love the opportunity to partner alongside you in helping nurture your child’s first impression of our Heavenly Father.
lambs (the two’s)
Your little ones are still little, they now desire some autonomy, choices, boundaries and even show empathy! We leverage the power of crafts, story, song and play in this stage to continue to impress the significance of God and His Word.
cubs (the three’s)
They are growing up so fast and have such wonderful imaginations. In this stage, your kids are beginning to notice the social aspect of the church. They now learn together as a group through Bible story, singing, crafting and play.
otters (the four’s)
At this stage of life your kids are doing great things like sharing and taking turns. They can also understand people’s feelings and obey rules. We continue to teach about God in song, creative Bible lessons, small groups and scripture memory.
kindergarten through second grade
In this stage of life, kids are becoming self-aware, establishing meaningful relationships, developing skills and managing responsibility. With all these new changes in their life, we want to help them see that God is there with them!
third through fifth grade
This stage can be difficult as kids are growing in independence, individuality and establishing their own beliefs and values. Through small groups and strong peer relationships, we continue to advocate Jesus’ Way as the best way.
How Check-In Works Week-to-Week
Before Service: Our volunteers will help you check your families in. As the parent/guardian, you and your children will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and your current visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you hold on to the matching tag.
After Service: After the service is complete, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.
During Service: In the event that we need to contact you during the service, your child’s identification code will appear on the screen. We ask that you exit the ministry center immediately and return back to the kids ministry environment where a staff member or volunteer will direct you to your child’s location.
Come Serve With Us!
Having kid’s ministry for all three of our services takes a lot of people serving and we are always looking for more. If you’re interested in serving in our kid’s ministry, please click the button below.
