Crosswinds’ Legacy Campaign is a three month fundraising initiative May 1 – July 31. This initiative is more than just fundraising; it’s about coming together as a church family to make a lasting impact for today and future generations. We would not be gathering as a church family today if it were not for the legacy left by those who came before us.
HISTORY:
In 1888 a small group of believers sacrificed their time, talent, and treasure to share the mission to “Know God and Make Him known” in Canandaigua, New York. The verbiage may change through the years, but the mission remains consistent—locally and around the globe—including a long history of focusing on the utility of ministry in each building strategy and sharing generously with our mission’s partners.
We strive to honor that legacy as we seek opportunities to minister today and prepare the Canandaigua Campus for future generations.

Because of the generosity of those who have come before us, Crosswinds is debt free. Through your generosity, we aim to continue that legacy.
What are we hoping to achieve through the Legacy campaign this year? Our goal is to raise $100,000 to update several parts of our church building including HVAC, fascia repair, and roof sealing, installing new stage lighting in the Ministry Center, maintenance and rejuvenation of our fields around the church including the soccer/softball field, and sharing the blessing with others through our Mission’s Ministry.
WHY BUILDING MAINTENANCE? Owning a building comes with ongoing repairs and maintenance and we are quickly approaching end of life for some of our HVAC units. These units keep us warm in the winter and cool in the summer and are very important. We are also due for maintenance on the outside fascia as well as sealing roof leaks around the building.
WHY STAGE LIGHTING? Updating church stage lighting improves visibility for both in-person and online congregations, enhances engagement, and creates a distraction-free worship atmosphere. Modern, energy-efficient LED lighting replaces outdated, inefficient halogen systems, reducing maintenance while providing better, more even lighting for video production and even reducing electricity bills. It also offers more flexibility for various events including concerts, theatrical productions, and community gatherings.
WHY FIELD MAINTENANCE? We are blessed to own the surrounding land around the church including the upper field (soccer/softball field) and the large, unused field around the kids playground. The upper field needs to be refreshed and secured from flooding and we also want to add a staircase to make it much easier for people to access the field. In the past we used to host soccer games, soccer camps, and softball teams used it constantly. The field has fallen out of use, especially since COVID, and we would like to start utilizing it again for our community. The other section of field gives us the possibility of many things with proper maintenance including a frisbee golf course, walking course, and possible bike path.
WHY MISSIONS? Ten percent of every dollar donated will be allocated to supporting Missions in our own community and around the globe to help spread the love and faith of Jesus Christ.
